Welcome to the website for AB Risk Limited. Incorporated at the end of 2008, AB Risk Limited has been formed by Andy Brazier to continue providing consultancy services. Having worked as a Sole Trader for four years, formation of a limited company is a natural progression. However, Andy has no plans to expand his business, meaning if you engage him to do work it will definitely be him that does it!

  • Assisting a company to write improved operating procedures using task analysis as the basis
  • Leading Human Factors Engineering on a major gas plant going through detailed design
  • Writing a 'special report' on training and competence for a health and safety publication
  • Developing new ideas regarding human error and its role in safety

Recently completed

  • Assisted a company in developing new templates for operating procedures based on task criticality. Provided them with a 'procedure for writing procedures'
  • Applied a risk based approach to reducing staffing costs
  • Reviewed equipment layout and controls in a new control building, identifying a number of simple improvements to reduce the likelihood of human error
  • Provided a human factors input into process alarm design and implementation
  • Updated a large site's emergency plans to make them more simple and easy to use
  • Attended a HAZOP to ensure human factors was addressed in an appropriate way

Andy Brazier is a risk consultant specialising in human factors, safety and major hazards.  He has an engineering background and extensive experience of dealing with human, organisational and technical factors. He is particularly good at weighing up all the risks that affect companies, enabling him to prioritise the issues that need the most urgent attention. He is able to work at all levels of organisations and his clients welcome his practical and effective advice.

Andy is a Registered Member of the Ergonomics Society and Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
